Makaut Mar points list (2023-2024)

Makaut Mar points list (2023-2024)

The Mandatory Additional Requirement ( mar points) is an essential component of the undergraduate (UG) course curriculum at Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), West Bengal.

This initiative was launched to foster comprehensive student development at the university. MAKAUT introduced it during the academic year 2018-19 to encourage students’ participation in extracurricular activities.

Mar activities

Students are encouraged to engage in various activities such as participating in college programs and seminars, actively contributing to social developmental initiatives, promoting environmental protection through actions like tree plantation and spreading awareness, enrolling in online courses, actively participating in webinars, and undertaking entrepreneurial activities, among others.

Requirements

According to the MAKAUT Notice, each student is required to accumulate a minimum of 25 MAR activity points in every academic year to qualify for MAR participation.

Presently, it is mandatory for students from the 1st year to the 4th year to attain a score of 100 marks. Failure to meet this requirement will result in the non-issuance of the course completion certificate, in accordance with the rules.

Importance of Mar points

The primary objective of MAR is to facilitate skill development among students and provide them with firsthand field experience in social work activities.

Ways to get Mar points

To earn MAR points, students are required to actively participate in the activities listed by MAKAUT. Students can select activities aligned with their interests and preferences, and they must provide certificates or proof of their involvement for each activity.

At the end of each academic year, students should submit their activity records along with certificate proofs to their Campus Representative (CR). The university regularly updates the list of activities, and corresponding record sheets are uploaded accordingly.

Additionally, it is expected that every student shares their MAR activity data and certificates on social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram, which can serve as supplementary documentary evidence of their participation.
